Providing powerful poetry workshops for over 20 years

“Memorhyme are a collective with a huge knowledge base (poets, teachers, educational specialist, equality campaigners, etc) who are collectively hoping to act as engineers of educational reform, especially within the Birmingham area, toward more inclusivity in literacy activities for Black and minority ethnic persons. They are looking to act in an advisory/consultancy position for educational bodies and organisations, including more on-the-ground activities such as teacher training or making lesson plans to help shift curricula.”

"From the very start, the presentation was high energy and the pupils absolutely loved their names being put into rhyming couplets for the register. It was great to see many pupils taking part and performing, who are normally quiet and passive, in addition to some of the more obvious characters in the year groups. You pitched the event and managed the pupils really well.

The love for poetry was infectious and I am sure that this will have helped in making poetry more accessible to our pupils, as well as reinforcing messages to the pupils about how we speak to each other and conduct ourselves in school."
